When larger particles enter between the piston and the cylinder, it will cause serious "cylinder scoring" phenomenon, which is particularly serious in a dry and sandy working environment. The air filter is installed in front of the carburetor or intake pipe to filter out dust and sand particles in the air, ensuring that an adequate amount of clean air enters the cylinder.

According to the filtration principle, air filters can be divided into several types, such as the filtering type, centrifugal type, oil bath type, and composite type. The commonly used air cleaners in engines mainly include the inertial oil bath air filter, paper dry air filter, and polyurethane filter element air filter.

3. When cleaning, it is essential to ensure that the filter element is not deformed or damaged.

Generally, depending on the different raw materials used, the service life of the filter element also varies. However, as the usage time extends, the impurities in the air will clog the filter element. So, generally speaking, the PP filter element needs to be replaced every three months; the activated carbon filter element needs to be replaced every six months; since the fiber filter element cannot be cleaned, it is usually placed behind the PP cotton and activated carbon for use and is not likely to be blocked; the ceramic filter element can usually be used for 9 to 12 months.
